Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy held a review on Water Works, Municipal Administration and GHMC at the HMDA office on Friday.
- CM Revanth Reddy gave certain instructions to the Water Works , MA and UD and GHMC wings.
- GHMC and HMDA should maintain building permission files transparently. Permission was given to the buildings without an online process. Building permission files went missing.
- Conduct vigilance raids in HMDA and GHMC limits in 15 days. Warned the officials of shutting out from services if any found dereliction of their duties.
- Prepare the list of building permissions given online. Questioned the officials for the deletion of online data of the Ponds from the HMDA website. Data of 3,500 ponds should be online.
- CCTV cameras should be installed immediately at the ponds to check encroachment.
Review on Municipal Administration Department:
- Playgrounds should be established for children in Hyderabad city. CM Revanth Reddy is surprised at the absence of commissioners in the newly constituted 85 municipalities.
- The CM spoke to Special Chief Secretary to Finance Department K Ramakrishna Rao on the phone. Ordered to ensure that Group 1 officers are appointed as Municipal Commissioners. Suggested to appoint IAS officials as Commissioners of new Municipal Corporations.
- Instructed to study the provision of accident insurance to municipal workers working in the municipalities and also
replace the old aged workers in the GHMC with their family members - Directed the officials to study the use of drone cameras for property tax assessment. Suggested setting up multi-level parking in the private sector in Hyderabad
- The Chief Minister asked the Zonal Commissioners to visit the colonies in the early morning or face disciplinary action. Government is ready to give non focal posts to the officials who are not ready to perform in the present posts.
- Set up a video billboard like in New York’s Time Square in Hyderabad and also multi utility towers. Take steps
to improve the street lights mechanism.
Review on Water Works:
- Ordered no drinking water scarcity in Hyderabad City. Use local ponds as storage tanks. Prepare plans to supply drinking water from Mallanna Sagar, Kondapochamma and Ranganayaka Sagar reservoirs to Hyderabad.
- Create the clusters of Ponds outside the outer ring road. The CM directed the officials to prepare plans for the drinking water needs in the next 50 years.
- Submit a detailed report on the availability of government-owned costly lands in Hyderabad. Instructed the officials to take up the inauguration of development programmes in Hyderabad in a week. Foundation stones for new Metro Rail lines will be laid soon.
- CM Revanth Reddy held review for over four hours. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and senior officials -Dana Kishore, Amrapali and others participated in the review.
