Stringent Action against drug supply and use: CM

The Chief Minister of the state, Sri Revanth Reddy, has ordered the officials to clamp down on the circulation and consumption of drugs in Telangana. This order was issued on the 11th of December at the Dr. BR Ambedkar state Secretariat during a review meeting on narcotics control.

The meeting was attended by State Excise, Tourism and Culture Minister Mr. Jupalli Krishna Rao, Telangana Chief Secretary- Mrs. Shantikumari, Telangana DGP- Ravi Gupta, Additional DG of Intelligence Department- Mr. Shivdhar Reddy, CMO Secretary- Mr. Seshadri and senior officials of the Prohibition Department, Drug Control Board and the Police Department.

Speaking on the occasion, the Hon’ble CM asked the officials to take strict action against the use or sale of drugs in the state. He expressed his intentions to appoint a full-time director for the existing Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau and to take steps to strengthen the department. He also asked the officials to guarantee necessary funds, resources, and other facilities to this department. The Chief Ministry mentioned that the prevention of narcotics sales and circulation would be given top priority.

CM Sri Revanth Reddy said that the “TS knob” should be transformative like the Greyhounds and Octopus in the state. He voiced his determination to make Telangana a drug-free state in the country.
