Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) on Monday in Hyderabad.
CM Revanth Reddy’s speech points:
Telangana students would have to go to Odisha and AP to pursue studies in the IIHT there. The previous government failed to establish a Handloom technology institute in Telangana in the last 10 years.
My government appealed to the union government to take measures to establish the IIHT in Telangana soon after the issue brought to the notice of him. I have appealed to the Prime Minister and Union minister to set up the institution in the state.
The Center responded positively to the Telangana government’s request and approved the establishment of the institute. Government directed the authorities to start work for the establishment of the Handloom Technology Institute this year itself.
Skill University has already been opened to impart skill training to students at Telangana State. Necessary steps will be taken to set up the IIHT campus in the Skill University next year.
The government already released Rs 290 crore dues and gave a big relief to the distressed weaving community.
The previous government made a hype on the promotion of handlooms by taking up a campaign with movie stars. The poor living conditions of the weavers remain unchanged . The last government also delayed in the release of dues for the payment of Batukamma sarees. Congress government released the funds and supported the struggling Sircilla workers without any politics.
63 lakh Self Help Groups members are registered in the state. The state government decided to distribute 2 sarees to each group member every year. Instructions have already been given to the authorities to come up with a good design and quality sarees.
The government decided to give the order of manufacturing of 1.30 crore sarees to the weavers every year. Officials are instructed to prepare an action plan for the conduct of elections to Co-operative Unions ( Samakya Sanghalu).
The government will waive Rs 30 crore handloom loans taken by the Weavers. My government is giving equal priority to farmers and weavers. I will support the entire weaving community like a big brother.
Election, selection, and collection are not considered sacrifices. Telangana movement leader Konda Laxman Bapuji sacrificed his posts to the cause of Telangana and Bapuji stood as role model for sacrifices.
Government decided to name the newly established IIHT after Konda Laxman Bapuji. Instructed officials to issue Government Orders ( GO) in this regard.

- తెలంగాణ విద్యార్థులు IIHTలో చేరాలంటే ఒడిశా, ఏపీకి వెళ్లాల్సిన పరిస్థితి.
- తెలంగాణలో ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఏర్పాటుకు పదేళ్లుగా చర్యలు తీసుకోలేదు.
- ఈ అంశం మా దృష్టికి వచ్చిన వెంటనే ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఏర్పాటుకు చర్యలు తీసుకోవాలని కేంద్రానికి విజ్ఞప్తి చేసాం.
- రాష్ట్రానికి ప్రత్యేకంగా ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఉండి తీరాలని ప్రధాని, కేంద్ర మంత్రి దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లాం.
- తెలంగాణ విజ్ఞప్తికి కేంద్రం స్పందించి ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ ఏర్పాటుకు ఆమోదం తెలిపింది.
- ఈ సంవత్సరమే ఇనిస్టిట్యూట్ మొదలుపెట్టాలని మేం అధికారులను ఆదేశించాం.
- విద్యార్థులకు నైపుణ్య శిక్షణ ఇవ్వాలని రాష్ట్రంలో స్కిల్ యూనివర్సిటీ ఏర్పాటు చేసాం
- వచ్చే ఏడాది నుంచి స్కిల్స్ యూనివర్సిటీలో IIHT భవనం ఉండేలా చర్యలు తీసుకుంటాం
- నేత కార్మికుల కళ్లలో ఆనందం చూడాలని రూ.290కోట్ల బకాయిలు విడుదల చేసాం.
- గతంలో ఆర్భాటం,సినీ తారల తతళుకు బెళుకులు తప్ప.. నేతన్న ఆత్మగౌరవంతో బ్రతికే పరిస్థితి లేదు.
- గత ప్రభుత్వం బతుకమ్మ చీరల బకాయిలను చెల్లించకుండా ఆలస్యం చేసింది.
- కానీ మేం బతుకమ్మ చీరల బకాయిలు చెల్లించి.. రాజకీయాలకు అతీతంగా సిరిసిల్ల కార్మికులను ఆదుకున్నాం..
- రాష్ట్రంలో 63 లక్షల మంది స్వయం సహాయక సంఘాల సభ్యులు ఉన్నారు.
- ఏడాదికి ఒక్కో సభ్యురాలికి రెండు చీరల చొప్పున పంపిణీ చేయాలని ప్రభుత్వం నిర్ణయించింది.
- మంచి డిజైన్, క్వాలిటీ తో ముందుకు రావాలని ఇప్పటికే అధికారులకు ఆదేశాలు ఇచ్చాం.
- ఏడాదికి దాదాపు కోటి 30 లక్షల చీరల ఆర్డర్ ను నేతన్నలకు ఇవ్వనున్నాం.
- సమాఖ్య సంఘాల ఎన్నికల నిర్వహణ విషయంలో కార్యాచరణ సిద్ధం చేయాలని అధికారులకు ఆదేశిస్తున్నా.
- రూ.30కోట్లున్న చేనేత రుణాలు మాఫీ చేసి చేనేత కార్మికుల రుణ విముక్తులను చేస్తాం.
- రైతన్న ఎంత ముఖ్యమో మాకు నేతన్న కూడా అంతే ముఖ్యం.
- మీ సమస్యల పరిష్కారానికి మీ అన్నగా మీకు అండగా ఉంటా.
- ఎలక్షన్, సెలెక్షన్, కలెక్షన్ చేసిన వారిది త్యాగం కాదు
- తెలంగాణ కోసం పదవిని తృణప్రాయంగా వదిలేసిన కొండా లక్ష్మణ్ బాపూజీది అసలు సిసలైన త్యాగం.

- IIHT కి కొండా లక్ష్మణ్ బాపూజీ పేరు పెట్టాలని నిర్ణయించాం.
