Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy asserted that the alignment of the southern part of the Regional Ring Road (RRR) should safeguard the interests of and derive optimum benefit to the State.
The Chief minister suggested to finalize the alignment in such a way that the Industries, which are coming up in the Fourth city, officers and staff working in the companies should get access to education, medical and other required facilities.
The CM held a lengthy review on RRR – Southern part, construction of redial roads and Greenfield road connecting Dry Port to Sea Port at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Wednesday.
The Chief Minister already suggested several changes in the alignment of the southern part of the RRR in the review held last week and the officials made changes in the alignment accordingly. The CM suggested some more changes after analysing the proposals submitted by the officials. The CM ordered the officials to alter the alignment in tune with his suggestions and finalise action plan for taking up the works.
Show compassion towards austees in land acquisition
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress in the construction of radial roads from ORR to RRR and suggested to the officials to take up land acquisition at the fast pace in the proposed redial roads. The Chief Minister asked the officials to adopt a humane approach while acquiring land for roads, and other development works and safeguard the interests of the displaced farmers. Apart from giving maximum compensation, the CM said that the farmers should also get additional assistance from the government.
The Chief Minister suggested that Machilipatnam and Kakinada Ports should be taken into consideration for the construction of the Dry Port. The connectivity, distance to Andhra Pradesh and protecting Telangana interests and benefits to the state should be given as priority. The CM asked the officials to develop a design for the Greenfield highway after studying all aspects. The issue of Inland Waterways is also discussed in the meeting. Officials informed the Chief minister that the Center is giving priority to inland waterways with a network of rail and waterways. The Chief minister instructed the officials to conduct a study on such rail and waterways network, success rate and possibility of materialization of proposals and submit a report to him at the earliest.
The authorities have been asked to prepare an action to promote Forest areas as Night Safaris at 3 places on the road which is being constructed from Raviryal to Amangal between ORR and RRR. CM Revanth Reddy opined that it is rare to have an international airport, a city and a forest area nearby. This combination should be used as an advantage. Jindal has developed Nature Cure in Bangaluru. The available resources in Hyderabad can also be used to develop such facilities, the CM said the development will take place fast by connecting industries in the Fourth city with the forest areas. The establishment of Apple industry in the Apple orchard is the best example of it. The CM also explained the potential to attract film industry for shooting in Rachakonda hills and its natural beauty.
The Chief minister emphasized that the officials of all departments should work together in land acquisition for RRR, radial roads and Fourth City to achive the goals. The CM warned that every review should show progress in the works.. If failed, the CM said he will not hesitate to take stringent action.
