- CM requests Union Minister to sanction 2.70 lakh houses
- CM Revanth Reddy appeals to extend Smart City Mission project till June 2025
Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy appealed to Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to sanction 2.70 lakh houses to Telangana under BLC (Beneficiary Led Construction) model in 2024-25 financial year. The Chief Minister explained to the Union Minister that the state government decided to construct 25 lakh houses for the poor in their own habitations.
The CM met Union Minister Khattar at the latter’s residence in Delhi on Monday. CM Revanth Reddy informed the Union Minister that 15 lakh houses, out of the proposed construction of 25 lakh houses, will come under the purview of the Urban Development Department and they will be built under the BLC system.
Since the union government took up the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana -PMAY (Urban) as a prestigious housing scheme, the CM explained to Manohar Lal Khattar that the state government will construct the houses as per the guidelines set under the PMAY scheme. The Chief Minister requested the union minister to increase funds sanctioned under PMAY (U) for the year 2024-25. The Chief Minister reminded that 1,59,372 houses have already been sanctioned to Telangana under PMAY (U) and a grant of Rs.2,390.58 crores has also been announced. CM Revanth Reddy said that only Rs.1,605.70 crores have been released so far and requested the union minister for the release of pending funds immediately.
The CM also appealed to the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister to extend the deadline for the completion of the Smart City Mission till June 2025 as the works are yet to be completed and are pending at various levels.
The CM informed the Union Minister that works have been undertaken in Warangal and Karimnagar cities in Telangana under the Smart City Mission. The Chief Minister said that 45 works have been completed in Warangal and another 66 works undertaken at a cost of Rs.518 crores are in progress. 25 works have already been completed in Karimnagar and 22 works which are taken up at the cost of Rs.287 crores are also in progress. As the term of the Smart City Mission is ending on June 30 this year, CM Revanth Reddy requested the union minister to extend the mission for one more year till the completion of the works for public benefit.

2024-25 ఆర్థిక సంవ‌త్స‌రంలో బీఎల్‌సీ మోడ‌ల్‌లో తెలంగాణ‌కు 2.70 ల‌క్ష‌ల ఇళ్లు మంజూరు చేయాల‌ని కేంద్ర గృహ‌నిర్మాణ, ప‌ట్ట‌ణ వ్య‌వ‌హారాల శాఖ మంత్రి మనోహర్ లాల్ ఖ‌ట్ట‌ర్‌కు ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి విజ్ఞ‌ప్తి చేశారు. నిరుపేద‌లకు వారి సొంత స్థ‌లాల్లో 25 ల‌క్ష‌ల ఇళ్లు నిర్మించాల‌ని రాష్ట్ర ప్ర‌భుత్వం నిర్ణ‌యించింద‌ని కేంద్ర మంత్రి దృష్టికి ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి తీసుకెళ్లారు. కేంద్ర మంత్రి ఖ‌ట్ట‌ర్‌ను ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి సోమ‌వారం ఆయ‌న నివాసంలో క‌లిశారు.
రాష్ట్రంలో తాము నిర్మించ‌ద‌ల్చిన 25 ల‌క్ష‌ల ఇళ్ల‌లో 15 ల‌క్ష‌లు ఇళ్లు, ప‌ట్ట‌ణాభివృద్ధి సంస్థ‌ల ప‌రిధిలోకి వ‌స్తాయ‌ని, వాటిని ల‌బ్ధిదారు ఆధ్వ‌ర్యంలోని వ్య‌క్తిగ‌త ఇళ్ల నిర్మాణం (బీఎల్‌సీ) పద్ధతిలో నిర్మించ‌నున్న‌ట్లు కేంద్ర మంత్రికి ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి వివ‌రించారు. ప్ర‌ధాన‌మంత్రి ఆవాస యోజ‌నను (ప‌ట్ట‌ణ)-పీఎంఏవై (యూ) కేంద్ర ప్ర‌భుత్వం ప్ర‌తిష్టాత్మ‌కం తీసుకున్నందున, 2024-25 సంవ‌త్స‌రానికి పీఎంఏవై (యూ) కింద మంజూరు చేసే ఇంటి నిర్మాణ వ్య‌యం నిధులు పెంచాల‌ని, రాష్ట్రంలో తాము నిర్మించే ఇళ్ల‌ను పీఎంఏవై (యు) మార్గ‌ద‌ర్శ‌కాల ప్ర‌కారం నిర్మిస్తామ‌ని కేంద్ర మంత్రి ఖ‌ట్ట‌ర్‌కు ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి వివ‌రించారు. పీఎంఏవై (యూ) కింద ఇప్ప‌టి వ‌ర‌కు తెలంగాణ‌కు 1,59,372 ఇళ్లు మంజూరు చేసి రూ.2,390.58 కోట్లు గ్రాంటు కింద ప్ర‌క‌టించార‌ని ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి గుర్తు చేశారు. అయితే ఇందులో ఇప్ప‌టి వ‌ర‌కు కేవ‌లం రూ.1,605.70 కోట్లు మాత్ర‌మే విడుద‌ల చేశార‌ని, మిగ‌తా నిధులు విడుద‌ల చేయాల‌ని కేంద్ర మంత్రి ఖ‌ట్ట‌ర్‌ను ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి కోరారు.
స్మార్ట్ సిటీ మిష‌న్ కింద చేప‌ట్టే ప‌నులు పూర్తి కానుందున మిష‌న్ కాల ప‌రిమితిని 2025, జూన్ వ‌ర‌కు పొడిగించాల‌ని కేంద్ర గృహ‌నిర్మాణ, ప‌ట్ట‌ణ వ్య‌వ‌హారాల శాఖ మంత్రి మనోహర్ లాల్ ఖ‌ట్ట‌ర్‌కు ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి రేవంత్ రెడ్డి విజ్ఞ‌ప్తి చేశారు. స్మార్ట్ సిటీ మిష‌న్ కింద తెలంగాణ‌లో వ‌రంగ‌ల్‌, క‌రీంన‌గ‌ర్ న‌గ‌రాల్లో ప‌నులు చేప‌ట్టిన‌ట్లు ఆయ‌న కేంద్ర మంత్రి దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లారు. మిష‌న్ కింద వ‌రంగ‌ల్‌లో 45 ప‌నులు పూర్తయ్యాయని, రూ.518 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో చేప‌ట్టిన మ‌రో 66 ప‌నులు కొన‌సాగుతున్నాయ‌ని, క‌రీంన‌గ‌ర్‌లో 25 ప‌నులు పూర్తయ్యాయని, రూ.287 కోట్ల వ్యయంతో చేప‌ట్టిన 22 ప‌నులు కొన‌సాగుతున్నాయ‌ని కేంద్ర మంత్రికి ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి వివ‌రించారు. స్మార్ట్ సిటీ మిష‌న్ కాల ప‌రిమితి ఈ ఏడాది జూన్ 30తో ముగుస్తోంద‌ని, ప్ర‌జా ప్ర‌యోజ‌నార్ధం ప‌నులు ముగిసే వ‌ర‌కు మిష‌న్ కాల‌ప‌రిమితిని మ‌రో ఏడాది పొడిగించాల‌ని ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి విజ్ఞ‌ప్తి చేశారు.
