- Telangana adopts Prime Minister’s Crop Insurance Scheme again
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy asserted the state government’s main objective is to strengthen the agriculture sector by supporting the farmers. The state government adopted the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) again to safeguard the farmers from the hardships in the farming.
CM Sri Revanth Reddy, state Agriculture Minister Sri Tummala Nageswara Rao and PMFBY CEO and Joint Secretary Sri Ritesh Chauhan held a meeting at the State Secretariat today. The CM and central officials discussed the implementation of the farmer insurance scheme in Telangana from 2016 and 2020 and the withdrawal of the scheme from the state till now. As the state decided to rejoin the PMFBY scheme, farmers will get crop insurance from the next crop season.
Sri Ritesh Chauhan said that the farmers will benefit from the insurance scheme and timely compensation will be provided in case of crop loss. The Chief Minister said that his government is giving top priority to the implementation of farmer-centric welfare policies in the overall development of the state. Special Chief Secretary to the Finance Department Sri Ramakrishna Rao, Chief Minister’s Secretary Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy, State Agriculture and Cooperation Department Secretary Sri Raghunandan Rao, Agriculture Department Director Sri Gopi and others participated in the meeting.

రైతులకు ద‌న్నుగా నిలుస్తూ సాగు రంగాన్ని బ‌లోపేతం చేయ‌డ‌మే త‌మ ప్ర‌భుత్వ ల‌క్ష్య‌మ‌ని ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి అన్నారు. సాగు రంగంలోని ప్ర‌తికూల‌త‌లు త‌ట్టుకుంటూ రైతులకు ర‌క్ష‌ణగా నిలిచేందుకు ‘ప్రధానమంత్రి ఫ‌స‌ల్ బీమా యోజ‌న’ (పీఎంఎఫ్‌బీవై)లో రాష్ట్ర ప్ర‌భుత్వం తిరిగి చేరింది.
రాష్ట్ర స‌చివాల‌యంలో ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి, రాష్ట్ర వ్య‌వ‌సాయ శాఖ మంత్రి శ్రీ తుమ్మ‌ల నాగేశ్వ‌ర‌రావు, పీఎంఎఫ్‌బీవై సీఈవో, కేంద్ర సంయుక్త కార్య‌ద‌ర్శి శ్రీ రితేష్ చౌహాన్ ఈరోజు స‌మావేశ‌మ‌య్యారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా పీఎంఎఫ్ బీవైలో 2016 నుంచి 2020 వ‌ర‌కు తెలంగాణ ఉన్న విష‌యం, ఆ త‌ర్వాత నాటి ప్ర‌భుత్వం దాని నుంచి ఉప సంహ‌రించుకున్న తీరుపై చ‌ర్చ జ‌రిగింది.
పీఎంఎఫ్‌బీవైలోకి రాష్ట్ర ప్ర‌భుత్వం తిరిగిచేర‌డంతో వ‌చ్చే పంట కాలం నుంచి రైతులు ఈ ప‌థ‌కం నుంచి పంట‌ల బీమా పొంద‌నున్నారు. పీఎంఎఫ్ బీవైతో రైతులకు ప్ర‌యోజ‌నం క‌లుగుతుంద‌ని, పంట‌లు న‌ష్ట‌పోయిన‌ప్పుడు స‌కాలంలోనే ప‌రిహారం అందుతుంద‌ని శ్రీ రితేష్ చౌహాన్ తెలియ‌జేశారు. ఈ సందర్భంగా ముఖ్య‌మంత్రి శ్రీ రేవంత్ రెడ్డి స్పందిస్తూ రాష్ట్ర స‌మ‌గ్రాభివృద్ధిలో రైతు కేంద్రిత విధానాల అమ‌లుకు ప్రాధాన్యం ఇస్తామ‌ని తెలిపారు.
