Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy along with Sri Mahesh Godi, Founder & CEO, GODI India Private Limited, announced the setting up of a 12.5 GWh cell manufacturing with an investment outlay of INR 8,000 crore from GODI for setting up of a Lithium and Sodium Ion and related technologies R&D and Giga scale cell manufacturing facility in Telangana, over a period of five years.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between State Government of Telangana and GODI India today at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The proposed project has an employment generation potential of 6,000 in Phase 1. The project aims to have a 2.5 Gwh cell assembly line in Phase 1, with planned expansion to 10 Gwh in the second phase.
In 2020, GODI has swiftly emerged as a key player in the energy storage domain. In a short duration, GODI achieved milestones such as developing Li-ion pouch and cylindrical prototype cells in its Li-ion pilot production line. GODI has future innovations in the pipeline, including sodium-ion and solid-state battery technologies, and establishing a cutting-edge cell manufacturing facility, catering to sectors such as defense and aerospace, solar and wind, telecommunications, electric vehicles, and electronics.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy welcomed the investment and said that the new Government of Telangana is working towards promoting the adoption of electric vehicles and establishing a comprehensive EV & ESS ecosystem in the State.
He added that the proposed project is aligned with the state’s vision of promoting the adoption of electric vehicles and GODI will be a key player in Telangana’s ESS ecosystem.
Mr. Mahesh GODI, thanked Government of Telangana for their support and cooperation and said that he is confident GODI will play a key role in enabling and creating an ecosystem of EV & Energy Storage companies in Telangana.
“There is a groundswell of positivity and confidence in Telangana’s business propensity and growth after a Congress government under the leadership of CM Revanth Reddy took charge,” he said.
Minister for Industries and ITE&C Sri Sridhar Babu, Principal Secretary ITE&C, Industries & Commerce Sri Jayesh Ranjan IAS, and Special Secretary, Investment Promotion, Sri Vishnu Vardhan Reddy were also present during the meeting.

గోడి ఇండియా ప్రైవేట్‌ లిమిటెడ్‌ కంపెనీ తెలంగాణలో గిగా స్కేల్ బ్యాటరీ సెల్ తయారీ కేంద్రాన్ని నెలకొల్పనుంది. అందుకు సంబంధించి భారీగా రూ.8000 కోట్ల పెట్టుబడులు పెట్టేందుకు రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వంతో ఒప్పందం చేసుకుంది. ఈ యూనిట్ లో 12.5 GWh (గిగావాట్ ఫర్ అవర్ ) సామర్థ్యముండే బ్యాటరీ సెల్ తయారు చేయనున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది. దావోస్ లో జరుగుతున్న వరల్డ్ ఎకనమిక్ ఫోరమ్ సదస్సులో భాగంగా గోడి ఇండియా కంపెనీ వ్యవస్థాపకుడు, సీఈవో మహేష్ గోడి ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఏ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డితో సమావేశమయ్యారు.
అదే వేదికగా తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వంతో గోడి ఇండియా అవగాహన ఒప్పందం (ఎంవోయూ) కుదుర్చుకుంది. రాబోయే అయిదు సంవత్సరాల వ్యవధిలో తెలంగాణలో లిథియం, సోడియం అయాన్, సంబంధిత సాంకేతిక పరిజ్ఞానాల పరిశోధన, అభివృద్ధి (R&D), గిగా స్కేల్ సెల్ తయారీ కేంద్రం నెలకొల్పనున్నట్లు ప్రకటించింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్ట్ మొదటి దశలో 6,000 మందికి ఉద్యోగాలు లభిస్తాయి. ముందుగా 2.5 గిగావాట్ల కెపాసిటీ సెల్ అసెంబ్లింగ్ లైన్ తయారు చేసి, రెండో దశలో 10 గిగావాట్లకు విస్తరిస్తారు.
గోడి ఇండియా పెట్టుబడులను ముఖ్యమంత్రి ఎ. రేవంత్ రెడ్డి స్వాగతించారు. తెలంగాణ కొత్త ప్రభుత్వం ఎలక్ట్రిక్ వాహనాలను, ఎనర్జీ స్టోరేజీ సిస్టమ్ లను ప్రోత్సహించటంతో పాటు పర్యావరణ అనుకూల వ్యవస్థను నెలకొల్పేందుకు ప్రభుత్వం కృషి చేస్తోందని అన్నారు. అందుకు అవసరమైన విధానాలకు తమ ప్రభుత్వం మద్దతుగా నిలుస్తుందని భరోసా ఇచ్చారు. ఎలక్ట్రిక్ వాహనాల వినియోగం, పర్యావరణ వ్యవస్థలపై రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి ఉన్న ఆలోచనలకు అనుగుణంగానే ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు అనుసంధానమై ఉందని, ఎనర్జీ స్టోరేజీ సిస్టమ్ ల రూపకల్పనలో గోడి కీలకంగా నిలుస్తుందని అన్నారు.
తమ కంపెనీకి పూర్తి సహాయ సహకారాలు అందిస్తామన్న తెలంగాణ ప్రభుత్వానికి మహేష్ గోడి కృతజ్ఞతలు తెలిపారు. సీఎం రేవంత్‌రెడ్డి నేతృత్వంలో కాంగ్రెస్ ప్రభుత్వం అధికారంలోకి వచ్చిన తర్వాత తెలంగాణలో వ్యాపారాలకు సానుకూల వాతావరణంతో పాటు పెట్టుబడిదారుల్లో విశ్వాసం పెరిగిందని అన్నారు. ఈ సమావేశంలో పరిశ్రమల శాఖ మంత్రి డి. శ్రీధర్ బాబు, ప్రిన్సిపల్ సెక్రటరీ జయేష్ రంజన్, ఇన్వెస్ట్ మెంట్ ప్రమోషన్ స్పెషల్ సెక్రటరీ విష్ణు వర్ధన్ రెడ్డి పాల్గొన్నారు.
