Special drive to vaccinate 3 lakh people daily

Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao has instructed the senior officials of the Medical and Health department to take up a special drive to vaccinate 3 lakh people daily to save people in the Telangana State from Corona. He said since the production of the Corona vaccine in the country has increased qualitatively, there is a possibility of the State getting its required supply of the vaccination. The CM said though Corona is in full control in the State, the special drive of the vaccination should be taken up so that people should not suffer in the future due to the Corona pandemic. The Medical and Health department officials brought to the notice of the CM that despite government and private educational institutions have opened; there is not much effect of Corona. The Medical and Health officials informed the CM that there is no chance of an increase in the Corona cases.

The CM on Sunday held a high-level review meeting on the Medical and Health department. In this review meeting, Ministers Sri E Dayakar Rao, Sri S Niranjan Reddy, State Planning Commission Vice Chairman Sri B Vinod Kumar, MLA Sri G Vittal Reddy, Chief Secretary Sri Somesh Kumar, CM Principal Secretary Sri S Narsing Rao, Secretaries Ms. Smita Sabharwal, Sri Rajsekhar Reddy, Special CS (Finance) Sri Ramakrishna Rao, Health Secretary Sri SAM Rizvi, Director Srinivas Rao, DME Sri Ramesh Reddy, OSD Sri Gangadhar, TSMSIDC MD Sri Chandrasekhar Reddy, Health University VC Sri Karunakar Reddy, NIMS Director Sri Manohar and others participated.

The Medical and Health officials informed the CM that there are 2.80 Cr people above the age of 18 and are eligible for vaccination in the state. So far 1.42 Cr were administered the first dose of vaccination, 53 lakhs completed their second dose of vaccination. 1.38 Cr people are yet to administer the first dose of vaccination.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said, “In the special drive of vaccination of administering Covid vaccine to 3 Lakh people in a day, Gram Sarpanches, MPTCS, Ward members, Gram Secretaries, MPPs, ZPTCs, and other public representatives should actively participate, MPDOs, MPOs, DLOs, DPOs, ZP CEOs, and other staff should coordinate, extend all the support to medical and health department and make the vaccination programme a success.

The CM congratulated the Sarpanches, who at the peak of Corona, imposed lockdown in the villages and set up isolation centres in the schools and stood by the people. In a similar way, the CM wanted the Sarpanches to actively participate in the Corona vaccination programme. The CM has instructed the CS to coordinate with the Collectors and other officials through a videoconference and review the situation from time to time. The CM said officials and other public representatives should take measures to provide food and other facilities to the vaccination staff. The CM also instructed the officials concerned to utilize Schools. Colleges, Rythu Vedikas and other government and private buildings as the vaccination centres and set up tents to conduct vaccination camps.

The CM said people should realize that the sooner they take the vaccination, the better. The CM said reports suggest that people who have neglected when the Corona was in its peak when they had symptoms have lost their lives. People who were alert have saved their lives. Sri KCR urged the people when they have minor symptoms, they should go to the nearest PHCs and get them examined. The people have to take precautions and wear masks.

The CM has instructed the medical and health officials to be on high alert to help people to face any eventuality due to Corona or any other seasonal diseases. The CM instructed the officials to set up Oxygen plants and beds with Oxygen supplies.

The CM said that the state government so far had given top priority to Irrigation and Agriculture sector and henceforth it will give priority to the Medical and sectors. The CM instructed that special attention should be given to the construction of multi-specialty hospitals and medical colleges and complete them at the earliest. The CM said two additional towers should be constructed at the NIMS, Hyderabad which is offering unique services and extend the medical services. The CM wanted the government hospitals should maintain their cleanliness on par with the corporate hospitals. The officials informed the CM that they are equipped to face any situation in the state.
